HOW TO CHOOSE PROTECTIONS FOR KARATE
When choosing protections for karate it is important to evaluate (1) the correct size and (2) in which Federation or Promotion Body these should be used.
SIZE
On our website SPORTLINE15.COM you can consult for each item the size table. Just press the "Cut Table" button at the top of the article tab. The choice of the size of the protection is in relation to the height of the person.
Federation and Sports Promotion Body
FESIK
ITAKI is official technical sponsor of the Italian Karate Sports Educational Federation (FESIK) and ITAKI protections can be used in all official competitions.
FIK
ITAKI is the official technical sponsor of the Italian Karate Federation (FIK) and the ITAKI protections for karate can be used in all official competitions.
WKF-FIJKAM
On our website you can find WKF approved
Arawaza, Tokaido and SMAI protectors. FIJLKAM approved ITAKI gloves, shin guards and vest are also available.
WKF approval
The WKF approved protections are those that can be used in all competitions that take place under the aegis of the World Karate Federation and those national Federations that transpose the regulations, in Italy the FIJLKAM and the Sports Promotion Bodies that have signed an agreement with it.

WKF approved gloves, bulk protections, bodices and masks are marked with the WKF Approved logo.
FIJLKAM approval
In the context of the FIJLKAM national competitions, up to the Italian championships included, it is possible to use in addition to the WKF protections also those ITAKI approved FIJLKAM. These are very similar to the WKF ones in that they are made on the basis of the same technical sheets and the same measurement tables.
FIJLKAM approved protections can also be used in the competitions of the Sports Promotion Bodies that have an agreement with the FIJLKAM.
Compared to WKF approved protections, FIJLKAM protections have the advantage of offering the same quality, the same degree of protection and being cheaper. They can therefore be chosen by all practitioners who know that they do not have to participate in international tournaments but exclusively in national FIJLKAM competitions.
FIJLKAM approved gloves, shins and bodices are marked with the FIJLKAM Approved logo.
New bodices approved WKF and FIJLKAM for the rookie category
From 2019 a new bodice for the Beginners category has been introduced by WKF. Unlike the bodice for the senior, junior and cadet categories, the one in the rookie category is more padded, offers greater protection and must be worn over the karategi.
On SPORTLINE15.COM it is possible to buy the bodice for the Beginners category approved WKF of SMAI or the approved FIJLKAM of ITAKI.
The bodice for the Cadet, Junior and Senior categories with WKF approval of the SMAI and the one with FIJLKAM approval of the ITAKI are also available.
Breast pad
Also with regard to the breast cover it is possible to find on SPORTLINE15.COM both the approved WKF of SMAI and the approved FIJLKAM of ITAKI.
The WKF regulations indicate as mandatory for karateka the use of the paraseno in competition and above it at the same time the use of the bodice.
Test CE EN 13277
The ITAKI karate protections approved FIJLKAM, the Itaki protections (Art. 404, Art. 413A, Art. 69) as well as the WKF approved ones on our site, are CE EN13277 certified as per the communication of our supplier, a standard that guarantees the actual protective characteristics of foot guards, shin guards, gloves and bodices.
